Roan Choker

The Roan choker is a neck collar crafted from a single, wide strip of natural leather that encircles the neck. The main body has a relatively rigid structure and visually resembles a high stand-up collar. This piece was developed as part of a collection for the Final Qualification Work (VKR)—a brand specializing in customizable natural leather goods.

1. Pattern Drafting. Constructing the collar shape by accounting for neck circumference, garment height, and fastener placement.
2. Material Selection. Selecting skin sections with appropriate density, nap direction, and freedom from defects.
3. Cutting. Cutting the main piece according to the pattern without subsequent edge folding. Local reinforcement of hardware attachment points is necessary if required.
4. Eyelet Installation. Marking hole locations, punching, and securing metal components while controlling strength.
5. Lacing or Fastener Assembly. Determining the appropriate cord length, checking adjustability, and ease of wear.
6. Quality Control. Verifying fit, the condition of seams, the absence of sharp elements, and structural stability.

The choker is a versatile accent accessory capable of changing the perception of basic clothing. It can be paired with a white shirt, a fine knit, an off-the-shoulder dress, a lace top, or a sleek blazer.

The Roan choker is designed as an item suitable for small-batch reproduction. The core construction remains consistent, while the natural color and hide pattern lend individuality to each piece.

The initial proposed run is 10–20 items. It would be most practical to select one design with two material or clasp options, avoiding overcomplicating the process for a full drop. The anticipated retail price is 3,900 ₽ for S/M and 4,500 ₽ for M/L.
