Concept
The swimsuit was created as part of a project exploring the beach as a space for pleasure, self-expression, and contemporary consumer culture. Today, the beach is not just a place to relax near the water—it is a specific aesthetic tied to vibrant imagery, beautiful accessories, summer rituals, and the desire to maintain the feeling of an endless vacation.

The model is based on a classic silhouette of a one-piece swimsuit, reimagined with a striking decorative element—vertical rows of large blue scales. Their iridescence recalls sunlight sparkling on water, sea ripples, and the sheen of seashells. The combination of deep blue, bright light blue, and white creates a fresh, memorable image that references marine aesthetics and the visual language of beach culture. The accompanying swim cap enhances the set’s cohesion, transforming it into a standalone fashion statement.
«LIFE’S A BEACH» is the embodiment of a bright, slightly theatrical summer where the beach becomes a runway, and the everyday transforms into a celebration.
The defining feature of this garment is the combination of athletic simplicity and decorative expressiveness. The rhythmic texture of the scales creates volume, movement, and a visual focal point, allowing the swimsuit to become the centerpiece of a summer wardrobe. It is designed for those who view clothing as a means of playing with their image and are unafraid to stand out.

Stages of Production
1) Design DevelopmentAn original design was developed for a swimsuit and headwear, based on a fusion of beach aesthetics, decorative richness, and expressive texture. The set includes a one-piece swimsuit with a high neckline and a fitted silhouette, along with tied swim caps. The main decorative element is vertical rows of voluminous blue scales set against a light background. The alternation of dark blue, rich azure, and light shades creates a rhythmic composition that visually accentuates the body’s lines. The decoration unifies both pieces into a cohesive ensemble.
- Pattern Development and Cutting
Swimsuit patterns are developed taking into account close-to-the-body fit, material elasticity, and the specific construction of a one-piece garment. The main components include the front and back sections of the swimsuit, as well as the finishing elements for the neckline and armholes. Additionally, patterns for the swim cap are created, considering head shape and the structure of the ties. Elastic fabric intended for swimwear and lining material are used for production. Cutting is performed according to the prepared patterns, accounting for seam allowances, fabric stretch direction, and the subsequent placement of decorative elements.
- Garment Construction
The swimsuit pieces are joined using elastic seams suitable for swimwear fabrics. The shoulder and side panels, neckline, armholes, and leg openings are finished. A lining is incorporated into the construction to ensure comfort and a neat appearance. The cap is made separately: the main components are joined, the edges are finished, and the ties are shaped. At this stage, the fit, symmetry of the garment, and seam strength against stretching are inspected.
- Application of Decorative Elements
To adorn the swimsuit, decorative sequins—scales of various shades of blue—are used. The elements are sequentially fixed onto the garment’s surface in vertical rows, creating a rhythmic pattern. When placing the decoration, consideration is given to the silhouette’s characteristics, the direction of the lines, and the symmetry of the composition. A similar design principle is applied when creating the swim cap, allowing it to visually harmonize with the swimsuit. Attachment is performed primarily by hand, ensuring control over the density of the elements' placement and the security of their fixation. Special attention is paid to areas prone to stretching so that the decoration does not impede the material’s elasticity or compromise the fit of the garment.
- Final Finishing
After sewing and decorating are complete, the finished set undergoes a quality inspection. Stitch strength, swimsuit symmetry, neatness of edge finishing, and the reliability of each scale attachment are checked. The final product is verified against the original sketch, including the placement of decorative stripes, the harmony of color tones, and the proportions of the elements. A careful final finishing process is executed, taking into account the fabric composition and the characteristics of the decorative materials. The final stage involves assessing the fit of the swimsuit and hat, the comfort of the ties, and the overall visual cohesion of the set.
Production Files
A set of two files—including the pattern and technical sketch—has been prepared as production materials. The main files are prepared for size 42, with a height of 170 cm and measurements of 76/58/87. All files are prepared for further use, preserving the original proportions and image quality.
