A desktop UPS for home and office that combines backup power, a feature lighting fixture, and storage. The project reimagines utilitarian electrical equipment as an interior design object that helps organize one’s surrounding space.

The tower’s minimalist form maintains integrity without additional modules. The interfaces are situated along the central axis of the front panel: two USB-C ports, one USB-A, and a dedicated light control button. This arrangement ensures access to the connections regardless of accessory placement on any side.

The back panel features six outlets, the power input with a fuse, and a power supply unit (PSU) on/off switch. The red color highlights the main switch, separating it from the fixture controls located on the front.

Perforated side panels serve as the foundation for removable modules. The mounting points are designed for accessories in the SKÅDIS system: phone holders, organizers, headphone hooks, and game controller stands.
Accessories can be repositioned by height and across the корпус sides to tailor the configuration to your specific needs. The system supports the use of ready-made, compatible modules as well as the development of custom parts for 3D printing.
The top of the tower features a light fixture with a frosted diffuser. The soft accent light complements the room’s illumination and helps integrate the device into a home environment. The fixture is controlled by a separate button on the front panel.
The internal layout is designed based on the DB UPS units while maintaining the vertical format of the casing. Internal shields are provided behind the side perforations to separate the accessory mounting area from the core components. The removable top panel integrates the seating area for the light module and the lampshade mounting.
A full-scale prototype was fabricated using FDM printing to test dimensions, proportions, and usability. On this prototype, the installation of removable holders and the device’s placement alongside everyday technology were verified.

In a home setting, the device sits near a television or a gaming system. Removable holders allow for the storage of headphones and game controllers, while the built-in light adds to the evening ambiance. One core form adapts to various scenarios through interchangeable modules.
