Concept
This work explores the influence of external expectations on an individual’s perception of their own future.
A young woman runs up a staircase, but the angle prevents us from knowing if she is ascending or descending. Her movement becomes a metaphor for choice—a direction that is not always clear. Gradually, the staircase dissolves into white space, and the distortions in the photograph amplify the sense of uncertainty.
The piece raises the question: how autonomously do we choose our path, and what role do others' ideas about what is right for us play in that choice?
