The project is based on an original replica of a girl’s headscarf from the Kostroma Governorate from the late 18th to early 19th century.
The decorative structure of the headwear is reinterpreted in the graphic design of a t-shirt. The shape of the festoons, the beadwork, the embroidery, and the rhythmic arrangement of the ornaments are transformed into a symmetrical composition that echoes the lines of the shoulders, neckline, and bust.
The print retains the recognizable features of the historical artifact, transferring traditional decorative elements onto a modern, everyday garment.
