The «Precedent» project is an immersive investigative performance where the audience acts as jurors.
I joined the team late in the process and took on the role of costume assistant. This gave me an invaluable opportunity not only to apply my skills but also to peek behind the curtain of creating a large-scale theatrical production—to see the magic of a performance coming to life from the inside.
My responsibilities included:
» Monitoring and sourcing costumes (online platforms and physical shops, thrift stores).
» Taking measurements from actors and compiling a master size chart.
» Calculating and preparing the project budget.
» Practical assistance with costume tailoring and creation
It is important to note that the overall concept and style of the project were developed by the costume designer before I joined.
Therefore, my task was not to create the looks from scratch, but rather to organically integrate with the existing aesthetic and bring the finished sketches to life with the utmost accuracy, finding the perfect material execution for them.

My first assignments involved assisting with taking measurements from actors. Based on the data collected, I created a detailed size chart.

After that, I began sourcing costumes based on the preliminary sketches. The bulk of the work took place in online stores.
In addition, we, along with another assistant, searched regular stores and thrift shops for similar items, as these places often hold the most unusual and authentic pieces of clothing, perfect for the stage.

The most significant part of the project for me personally was getting to participate in the costume and set design process.
Under the guidance of the technician and the head of costumes, I was able to sew an apron for the waitress character, assist with sewing a coat, and also help with sewing curtains and set dressings for the tables.
This was a very interesting experience; during this time, I learned to use the sewing machine with greater confidence.
