Predictor — predictor, harbinger (Eng.)
Predictor — the one who foresees the future, who perceives the signs of impending events. Within the context of this project, the ring becomes a material embodiment of humanity’s drive to find symbols capable of connecting the present with the unknown. The Egyptian hieroglyphs covering the ring’s surface reference ancient systems of symbolic thought, where an image could serve as a carrier of knowledge, a protective amulet, or a means of addressing the inscrutable. In this context, the ring is perceived as a unique artifact, preserving traces of an ancient language and imbuing them with new meaning.

The ring’s shape, a closed continuous circle, symbolizes the cyclical nature of time and the recurrence of events. The engraving, executed with a hand-scratched effect, emphasizes the object’s connection to an archaeological find: the darkened indentations and matte surface create a sense of something weathered by time. The antiqued silver reinforces this image, linking the visual fragility of the mark with the physical durability of the material.

The title Predictor reflects the duality of the human desire to foresee the future: the yearning for certainty confronts the impossibility of fully deciphering signs. The ring becomes less a tool for prophecy and more a symbol of the quest for meaning—an attempt to read the present through past imagery and imagine a possible future.
