My Soundtrack Concept
For the cinematic «Sirius,» I decided to create a calm and slightly melancholic soundtrack that conveys the main character’s feelings—loneliness, yearning, and hope for friendship.
Despite the bright and fairy-tale visual style, Sirius’s story touches upon a rather somber theme. Therefore, the music shouldn’t replicate the mood of the visuals but rather explore the character’s internal experiences.
The primary goal of the soundtrack is to establish an atmosphere of coziness and gentle sadness while maintaining a sense of magic and hope.
Musical Solution
I chose the piano as my primary instrument. Its soft, expressive sound helps convey Sirius’s emotional state without overwhelming the visuals. The slow tempo, simple melody, and light atmospheric sounds create a feeling of calm, loneliness, and dreaminess. I decided to omit drums, vocals, and large orchestral elements so the music would remain unobtrusive and allow the viewer to focus on the character’s story.

Prompt for soundtrack generation
Soft, melancholic piano soundtrack for a whimsical indie animated game about a lonely space traveler on a distant planet. A gentle, delicate piano melody featuring slow, expressive notes, warm harmonies, and subtle ambient textures. The mood is dreamy, intimate, nostalgic, and slightly sad, yet ultimately comforting and magical. It evokes a sense of solitude, innocence, quiet hope, and a longing for friendship. This is minimalist cinematic instrumental music, characterized by soft dynamics, spacious reverb, and delicate emotional storytelling. The tempo is slow, around 65–75 BPM. It features a simple, memorable piano motif, a gentle progression, and a peaceful ending. There are no vocals, drums, percussion, epic orchestration, or dramatic crescendos. The track is approximately 79 seconds long.
