As part of the SECOND ERA project, we developed an exhibition booth for the «New Fashion Days» event at the «Tsvetnoy» department store. The project is focused on the Russian vintage and resale market. Its research foundation consisted of market analysis, a survey of over 200 people, and an author-developed ranking of Russian brands. The main objective was to integrate the research findings with a thematic composition that explores the specifics of modern consumer culture.
01 / IDEA
Vintage and resale are changing our perception of clothing’s lifecycle. An item is no longer limited to a single owner, season, or era—it can become part of new looks and stories. An installation featuring branded bags, boxes, and mannequin elements visually embodies this idea. We combined items from different price categories to show how mass market, luxury, and vintage coexist in contemporary wardrobes.

02 / PROCESS
Work on the display stand began with material selection. For the composition, we gathered packaging from various fashion brands, differing in shape, scale, and design. Additional objects included two plastic legs and a mannequin arm. We hand-painted these, transforming ordinary retail fixtures into expressive elements of the installation. The contrast between the packaging, the plastic forms, and the metal structure helped create a multi-layered visual image.
03 / STRUCTURE
The load-bearing element of the stand was a white metal mesh. Its structure allowed for the simultaneous display of research materials and the creation of a foundation for the object composition. A large A1 informational poster took center stage. It presented the key results of the project: a ranking of Russian vintage brands, the criteria used for their evaluation, and the data from the conducted survey. All printed materials were prepared on photo paper and attached to the metal mesh using clips.
04 / ASSEMBLY
During the assembly, it was crucial to maintain the research’s readability while simultaneously creating a visually striking exhibition piece. We placed the packages and boxes at varying heights to form a composition around the central poster. Tape was used for securing the elements, and internal weights provided stability for individual components. Fragments of a mannequin were added to give the structure volume and enhance the visual character of the stand.
05 / CONCLUSION
The resulting work is an exhibition booth where analytical materials exist alongside physical objects. The installation merges data on the Russian vintage and resale market with the visual symbols of the fashion industry. This project demonstrates how research can transcend conventional informational formats and transform into an independent spatial object.
