Concept:
Printed shorts featuring a striking slogan conceptualized under the guise of hidden messaging during periods of censorship. The design is rooted in the DNA of the Waltet Van Beirendonk brand: protest graphics, cartoonish details, naivete, and audacity. The original poster was lifted from a wall and reimagined for the closet.
The garment has a basic form and fit, allowing it to be produced in small batches.
Structure:
Product Type: elasticated straight shorts. Main Material: 100% polyester windbreaker fabric, surface density 130–190 g/m², in a 1500 mm wide roll. Print: the inscription «MYSTERY is SOLVIED» and a tooth graphic printed on the front of the shorts. Print Size: 630 × 530 mm. Printing Method: sublimation printing. Two-color print with lettering and graphics.

Key Production Stages:
Sourcing and purchasing burgundy nylon fabric, elastic, and thread. Cutting fabric according to patterns, accounting for seam and hem allowances. Preparing the graphic print mockup for «MYSTERY is SOLVED» featuring teeth. Applying the print using sublimation printing in the PNG Print studio. Sewing the shorts pieces and finishing the seams. Inserting the elastic into the waistband and securing it with a zigzag stitch. Hemming the garment’s bottom edge. Quality control: inspecting seams, fit, size compliance, and print quality. Final preparation and packaging of the finished products.
Production and Cost:
The production process involves manufacturing 30 pairs of straight shorts from burgundy coated fabric featuring an elastic waistband and a sublimation print on the front. The print includes the inscription «MYSTERY is SOLVIED» and an image of teeth measuring 630 × 530 mm. Printing will be performed at the PNG Print studio near the Technological Institute. The production batch consists of 10 units in size S, 10 in size M, and 10 in size L.
The garment’s construction is designed for re-production and scaling. The approved patterns, print mock-up, and technological sequence allow for organizing subsequent batches while maintaining a unified visual solution and quality standards.
