A draft is something that passes right through and leaves no trace.
The typeface was born from shadows: the shadow of foliage cast into the shadow of a fence. The fence provides a rigid rhythm—a repeating step, a module. But the leaves within it never repeat. Where the layers overlap, the contour breaks—and that is how the forms of the glyphs came to be.
