In this project, I explore the concept of transmitting information across space and time through sound.

Tempus chartae — from Latin for «paper time»
Why is time «paper»? — because it is recorded. Our past, present, and future have long been written in books. By turning the pages of small and large volumes, we touch the flow of time with our fingertips. What was written in the past now lies in my hands, allowing us to glimpse the future.
The essence of improvisation is that I will be creating a track in real time using books and their pages. By slowly flipping through and running my fingers over the black text, I will record every touch and rustle. In the present, I will touch the past.

And to read the future, special bookmarks with cutouts for highlighting important words will help me.

Attendees in the room will become participants in this improvisation and journey from the past to the future with me. They will choose the page numbers that will serve as our beacons on this voyage. At the end of the performance, I will voice a message from the books set to their own rustling sound, which was created while searching for words.
