The project explores the theme of restricting free speech through the imagery of painted-over «patches» on the facades of city buildings. Hidden behind these patches are inscriptions, graffiti, and street art—forms of urban visual discourse. This phenomenon is so ubiquitous and normalized that censorship often becomes invisible.
In this project, I gather photographs of such locations and use AI to transform the covered areas, restoring their visibility: they become excessive, protruding, and disrupt the familiar surface of the urban environment.
