Concept
The «Deconstruct» T-shirt continues the «Orderly Chaos» project and the long read, «Why Everything Looks the Same.» They explore how the repetition of the same references gradually makes visual decisions resemble each other. The project proposes not copying what is seen, but deconstructing images into three components: fact, interpretation, and opinion. The T-shirt serves as a wearable cheat sheet for this method. Its graphics utilize a grid, crosshatching, numbering, and editorial correction—elements of the core project’s visual language.

General Overview

The foundation is a gray marl t-shirt. The prints are rendered in graphite and green: a short typographical phrase on the front and a schematic drawing on the back. The product was presented using layout visualizations and views on a model. A physical sample was not created. On the back, a conceptual poster is broken down into five elements: «FONT, ” „TYPESET, ” „GRID, ” „COLOR, ” „IMAGE.“ The grid, hatching, and numbers function as technical annotations. The lower stamp features three stages of the methodology: „FACT, ” „INTERPRETATION, ” „OPINION.“ The green star is the project mark.
One edit changes the meaning

On the cover, it reads: «DO NOT GATHER REFERENCES.» and «GATHER THEM.» The word «СО» in the second line is struck through with a green line, and «РАЗ» is added above it in green. The proofreader’s note changes «gather» to «disassemble»: shifting the focus from collecting others’ solutions to trying to understand how they function.
Internal Tag
The tag is designed like a blueprint stamp: «ORDERED CHAOS*, ” „SHEET 06/06, ” „DESIGNED BY E. MECHETINA, ” „2026.“ The number 06/06 refers to the six chapters of the longread. The t-shirt becomes its final page.
