X-CESS by PUNCTY — a bespoke piece of jewelry for industrial piercings, shaped like the letter X. It merges the geometry of Piercing Font with the aesthetic of Project X, symbolizing rebellion, freedom of self-expression, and transcending the conventional.
From letter to ornament
The letter X serves as the starting point for creating the jewelry piece: its graphic form is reinterpreted through the construction of industrial piercing. Thus, PUNCTY translates the principles of proprietary typography into a physical object, merging typography and jewelry design.
Materials and dimensions
Material: Implantable titanium ASTM F-136 with mirror polish and color anodization. Dimensions: approximate product size is 25 × 25 mm; diameter of connecting rods is 1.6 mm; diameter of the four outer beads is 4 mm, and the central bead is 5 mm. Final dimensions must be adapted to the ear’s anatomy and the placement of the two piercings.
Production
1. Preparation of the production 3D model
2. Checking the structure and fit of the jewelry, considering ear anatomy
3. Selection of ASTM F-136 implant-grade titanium
4. Precision machining of rods and spherical elements using CNC
5. Assembly of the structure and securing of joints
6. Sanding and mirror polishing of the surface
7. Color anodization in PUNCTY’s signature shades
8. Control of geometry, surface quality, and product safety
9. Final cleaning and sterilization
The assembly technology, joint types, tolerances, coloring method, and final dimensions are finalized in collaboration with production, taking into account the jewelry’s design and piercing requirements.
