Concept
The project adapts an original illustration, rendered in a dark fantasy comic style, for a T-shirt print. The image features four characters against the backdrop of a nocturnal gothic city: a cat-girl with pink hair, a bookish orc in round glasses holding a candle and a book, a giant beetle with a scythe, and a tall, faceless figure in a black cloak holding a lantern and a raven on its arm. The composition retains the original aesthetic: dense black outlines, flat color fills, halftone grain, and smoky gradients. The light blue T-shirt provides a bright background, contrasting sharply with the illustration’s deep, dark color palette and emphasizing the cool accents—the mist and the lantern light. The large, vertical placement on the chest transforms the artwork into an independent graphic statement.
