Creating a jacket based on studying the brand’s DNA and rethinking its form

In this project, I researched the brand Jacquemus, specifically its DNA and its approach to form.

One of the brand’s iconic finds is the O-silhouette (sometimes called «puffy»). Its signature feature is the voluminous sleeves, which visually resemble the letter «O.» Simon Porte Jacquemus began developing this trend back in 2016, and it later gained widespread recognition.

La Veste Jean. Frequently found in blended fabrics (cotton, linen, canvas). It may be unlined, feature patch pockets, notched lapels, a button closure, or a rear vent. Melo. A single-breasted style. Key features include pointed lapels, a button fastening, slash side pockets, and a central back vent. Baccala. Asymmetrical and cropped. Components may include viscose, silk, acetate, or polyester. Details such as diagonally cut flaps or knots add texture. La Veste Titolo. Another model in the assortment, which is often seen in black. La veste Galliga. A woolen blazer featuring decorative cutouts, strap accents, pointed lapels, and a full lining for comfort.
Lounge — a symbol of relaxation
For form generation, I chose a lounge chair because the brand itself often draws inspiration from everyday beach items when creating its products.
