Uspenskaya Church, built in 1774 on the shores of Lake Onega, was one of the outstanding monuments of wooden architecture of the Russian North. The church was located on the narrow cape Chupa-guby, and thanks to its height and expressive tented roofing, it formed the architectural dominant of the coastal landscape. The unique vertical composition, traditional log construction, and carved decorative elements reflected the characteristic features of Northern wooden architecture.

The concept for the architectural and artistic lighting aims to create a delicate and expressive light image of the Assumption Church during the evening and nighttime. Using soft, warm light, the intention is to emphasize the church’s vertical composition, tented roof, the texture of the wooden structures, and characteristic architectural details. Special attention is paid to the interaction between the light and the surrounding landscape, forming a recognizable silhouette of the church against the backdrop of Lake Onega, and preserving the historical atmosphere of the site.
