Design Concept and Product
«Léine & Loom» is a brand of hybrid urban casualwear that translates Celtic craftsmanship and epic storytelling into the language of modern fashion. Format: Hybrid garments (cardigans and jumpers with an integrated or detachable corseted belt). Functionality: A combination of soft knitwear/textured fabrics based on a twill weave (2/1 twill) with elastic, stiffening elements (safe flexible galoon) that provide a cinching effect without compromising comfort or breathability. Transformation: Models featuring detachable corsets allow the wearer to transition the look from a relaxed oversized silhouette to a structured, fitted profile.
Historical prototype and reference
The concept is based on the silhouette of traditional Irish attire from the 16th–17th centuries (specifically, the design of the Shinrone Gown and elements from the léine cut).
Relevance
In the contemporary urban environment, there is a high demand for clothing that merges tactile comfort, expressive fabric plasticity, and deep historical context. Consumers are seeking alternatives to mass-market goods—pieces with individuality that can easily adapt to a fast-paced lifestyle while retaining both ergonomics and a unique silhouette.
Materials Science and Color Theory
Fabrics: Blended wool and cotton weaves with a hand-finished effect, washed cotton, dense cotton twill, and eco-suede for corset details. Palette: Natural, complex shades of northern landscapes (moss green, deep emerald, clay terracotta, oatmeal/ecru, graphite gray) with accent details in a traditional tartan check.
Ergonomics and Technological Solutions
Anatomical Pattern Cutting: Adapting historical patterns to contemporary standards of comfort. Adjustable Fit: Front eyelet lacing combined with a hidden elastic panel at the back ensures the garment fits perfectly on different body types.
