Audio performance «One Restless Night» is an exploration of fragmented sleep, built upon personal experience.
Each track describes a period of sleep or wakefulness; they transition, intermingle, and disorient.

The soundscapes in the tracks utilize a lot of noise and field recordings that I captured at home. These field recordings include my neighbors arguing, talking loudly, or laughing. Occasionally, a persistent draft is present, which seems to hum a little tune to itself.
Another interesting feature of the tracks is the variation in rhythm. For the sleep tracks, I selected a BPM of 55 (for the first piece) and 60 (for the second), which correlates with my heart rate during sleep. For the wake-up tracks, I chose a BPM of 90—my average heart rate.
