The project focuses on creating a print for a t-shirt inspired by the Kalmyk costume. The starting point was a selected headdress and its embroidery—a combination of black and gold, wavy ornamental bands, and a branching motif. In the print, these elements are unified into an asymmetric composition, transferring the decorative techniques of the costume onto everyday apparel.

For the project, a standard-fit black T-shirt was chosen. The print is located on the front; the back remains solid-colored. Asymmetry is expressed in the design and its lower contour. The golden areas are rendered using color printing.

Print Details. On the left are the upper and lower ornamental bands; on the right is a fragment of a branching motif.
For the project, a standard-fit black t-shirt with a front print was selected. The back will remain solid-colored.
The initial image size is 34×22 cm, positioned approximately 7 cm below the neckline. The planned application technology is DTG, direct-to-garment printing.
The size and placement of the print will be finalized after selecting a specific t-shirt model.
The DTG (Direct-to-Garment) technology was chosen for the printing process—direct digital printing onto fabric. Before printing, the black t-shirt is treated with a special preparation solution. A white underbase is applied beneath the colored elements of the design to preserve the vibrancy of the pattern. The image is then printed, and subsequently, the ink is cured with heat. Prior to mass production, a test print must be verified for color accuracy, the sharpness of fine lines, and the placement of the print.
