Crucifixion

The work utilizes a blend of polyethylene and propylene (HDPE 2 + PPE 5). The raw material for processing was gathered from discarded white and transparent containers and lids—items that are frequently used and quickly sent to landfill. By recycling them in this project, we reduce the pollution caused by such rapid consumption. The blend forms a composite material essential for achieving the artistic qualities of the icon’s design, primarily the effect of speckled translucency. However, further processing of the piece is impossible due to the mixture of different types of plastic. Nevertheless, the material proves to be durable and resilient, extending its lifespan both practically and culturally.
