The project focuses on researching the traditional costume of the Olonets Governorate from the late 19th to early 20th century and creating a replica of a maiden’s headdress featuring a pearl underlayer. Its characteristic shape and decorative elements are recreated based on historical and museum materials.
On the t-shirt, the kokoshnik becomes the hero of the print: a girl in a pearl headdress, surrounded by red ribbons that trail down the sleeves. The rosettes and pearls transition into graphic elements, while the beaded texture remains the central theme.
The print is assembled as an engraving framed by embroidery: a sepia portrait is inscribed within a kokoshnik shield, where pearlescent threads and rhinestone rosettes project in relief. Red ribbons weave around the portrait and continue onto the sleeves. The back is nearly bare—only a rosette with a ribbon is visible beneath the collar.
