PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY: Material: glazed porcelain.Porcelain is suitable for this piece due to its light color, smooth surface, and ability to accurately reproduce complex shapes and fine decorative details.Width: 30–32 cm Height: 27–30 cm Depth of central depression: 2–3 cm Wall thickness: 5–7 mm
PRODUCTION STAGES:
- Model Creation. Development of a three-dimensional model of a plate featuring a distinctive church silhouette, a relief edge, and a recessed central section.
- Plaster Mold Making. A two-part plaster mold is created from the model, accounting for the protruding elements and the item’s specific geometry.
- Slip Casting. Liquid porcelain slurry is poured into the plaster mold. Once the walls reach the required thickness, excess slip is poured out, and the casting is removed after it has partially dried.
- Drying and Finishing. The piece is gradually dried, and the edges and surface are treated to eliminate imperfections.
- Bisque Firing. The casting undergoes a bisque firing, after which it becomes sufficiently strong to accept glaze and decoration.
- Glazing and Decoration. The surface is coated with a transparent or light glaze. Red and blue ornaments are applied using ceramic paints or decals. For accurate reproduction of the pattern across the series, a decal is preferred, provided the materials and technology are coordinated with the workshop.
- Final Firing. The piece is fired at a temperature appropriate for the chosen porcelain body, glaze, and decoration.
