Concept
At the core of the project is the rogata kichka—a traditional women’s headdress rooted in the culture of the Ryazan province. Its defining feature is the pair of protruding horns that form a striking silhouette. In folklore, these horns could carry a negative, even demonic, interpretation. This ties into tales of ecclesiastical disapproval of such headwear and the practice of covering them with fabric. The project investigates how societal norms influence a person’s external appearance, which elements of traditional culture are reinterpreted, and whether one can maintain selfhood while outwardly conforming to established rules.

The printed pattern of the keychain is overlaid with textile, and some beaded pendants and decorative lines are applied by hand.
