Concept
A visual exploration of alternative futures through photography and neural networks. The project investigates the boundary between reality, memory, and imagination, engaging with the aesthetic of retrofuturism—the conception of the future shaped by the past.
The work is rooted in original photographs taken during travels through Asian countries. Streets, residences, architecture, and urban spaces serve as the starting point for creating alternative visual worlds.

Through neural networks, the familiar urban environment is transformed: elements of retro-futuristic aesthetics are integrated, architectural forms are reinterpreted, details of city infrastructure are reshaped, and the visual atmosphere of the space is altered.
Real places take on the qualities of an imagined future—a future that feels simultaneously familiar and non-existent. A paradox arises: the viewer perceives the image as a memory of a place that could have existed, even though they have never seen it in this form.
The project addresses how humans construct images of the future through the visual experience of the past and present. Photography preserves the trace of reality, while the neural network becomes a tool for its artistic reinterpretation.
